Sehome High School
Sehome High School is a popular high school located in the sehome neighborhood of Bellingham, Washington. The address there is 2700 Bill McDonald Parkway, and is just up the street from the local University, Western Washington University. It is part of the sehome neighborhood. Because of its proximity to this highly-ranked university, students of Sehome high school are consistently reminded of their ability to graduate into higher education, and just how accessible it is to them. Sehome High School was named after Chief Sehome of the Samish Tribe. The school first opened in 1966, and had been growing since then. Sehome High School offers a variety of Advanced Placement and honors classes, and Running Start is a popular option there. In addition to this, the school requires all its students to meet or exceed the published standards of the Writing and English sections of the WASL, and to create a “High School and Beyond Plan.” Students from Sehome High School are encouraged to look to their future with optimism and with the knowledge that they have been prepared for it.
