Whatcom Falls Park
In the heart of Bellingham, Whatcom Falls Park makes for a perfect afternoon outing. Trails meandering through the park highlight the beauty of the area. Near the parking lot the main falls attract the attention of visitors with the sound of water crashing into the rocks. Aside from the falls, the park has beautiful wooded areas as well as open fields scattered with picnic tables and covered areas. A fishing pond for children under 12 is the ideal place to teach kids how to fish and is the venue for the children’s fishing derby is held annually at the beginning of trout season. Other amenities of Whatcom Falls Park include two playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, barbecue grills, and dog off lease areas.
The park allows visitors to reserve covered picnic areas by contacting the Parks and Recreation Office. Electric Avenue and Lakeway Drive both harbor entrances for Whatcom Falls Park. The park is open to the public from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm daily.
